Measure each person's financial health at intake, re-check the same person the same way at a fixed interval, and keep both results next to what they were offered and what they took up. Then you can show change per person and across the program, instead of counting sessions.

## Why aren't session counts enough?

Sessions, attendance, and satisfaction show that coaching happened. They don't show whether anyone's financial health changed. A board asking whether the program works wants the second answer.

## What should we measure, and when?

- **A baseline at intake,** with a validated instrument such as the [FinHealth Score®](https://www.finhealthrecord.com/finhealth-score/).
- **A re-check at a fixed interval,** such as six months after the first session, with the same questions and scoring.
- **What happened in between:** which help each person was offered, and whether they took it up.

Set the interval before the first session, so every participant's re-check is due at a known point and no one's result depends on when someone remembered to ask.

## Why does tracking the same person matter?

A yearly survey of whoever responds changes its population every year, so its average can move without any one person changing. Tracking the same person from intake to re-check shows real change, and lets you look at which kinds of help were followed by the biggest improvements.

## What will the results be able to claim?

Before-and-after change for participants shows improvement. To say coaching was associated with that improvement, compare participants with similar members who weren't coached. ## How does Attune help?

The [FinHealth Record™](https://www.finhealthrecord.com/finhealth-record/) keeps each person's intake and re-check results alongside what they were offered and took up, so coaches see the history and the program can report on it.
